Add a disk to a computer

Add an extra disk from the Storage tab. Your card is charged when you confirm, the computer disconnects for 1 to 3 minutes, and the new drive is ready to use.

An extra disk gives your computer more room as a new drive. Company admins can add one while the computer is running.

  1. Click Computers in the sidebar.
  2. Click the computer's name.
  3. Click the Storage tab.
  4. Click Add disk.
  5. Set the Size with the slider or the box. The smallest and largest sizes show under the slider.
  6. Check Rate and Added to your monthly bill.
  7. Click Pay and add disk.

Your card is charged when you confirm. The charge today is prorated for what is left of your billing period, and the disk then adds to your monthly bill. Save your work first, because the computer disconnects briefly, for about 1 to 3 minutes.

The status shows Provisioning storage while the disk is added. When it finishes, a message says the new drive is ready. You do not need to format anything. Find it in Windows.

An extra disk cannot be made bigger later. If you need more space on it, add another disk, or make the primary disk bigger instead.

If something goes wrong

  • A message says the payment was declined or failed: nothing was added. Update your payment method and try again.
  • The disk shows Needs attention, or a message says the storage change did not finish: contact our team so we can look at it.
  • A message says it is taking longer than expected: it may still be working. Wait a few minutes and refresh the page.
