After you made the primary disk bigger
The C: drive shows the larger size once the computer has rebooted. Everything on it stays where it was.
After you added an extra disk
A new drive appears, named DATA with a number after it. It takes the first free letter, starting at D:. Save files there like any other drive, or choose it when a program asks where to install.
Files do not move on their own. If C: is full, copy or move some of your files across, and programs may need reinstalling to use the new drive.
An extra disk stays with the computer through restarts and plan changes.
If you cannot see it
- Click the Storage tab on the computer's page, and check the disk's status.
- If the status is Ready or In use, restart the computer and look again.
- If the status is Needs attention, contact our team.
