Restore a computer from a snapshot

Restoring puts the primary disk back to the day of the snapshot and loses everything changed since. The computer restarts, which takes about 1 to 3 minutes.

Restoring puts the primary disk back to how it was on the day of the snapshot. Company admins can do this.

Everything changed on the primary disk since that day is lost, including files you saved and programs you installed. This cannot be undone. If you can still connect, copy anything you need to an extra disk or Cloud Drive first.

  1. Click Computers in the sidebar.
  2. Click the computer's name.
  3. Click the Snapshots tab.
  4. Find the day you want, with Primary disk in its row.
  5. Click the menu at the end of the row.
  6. Click Restore this snapshot.
  7. Click Restore snapshot to confirm.

The status shows Rebooting while the computer restarts, which takes about 1 to 3 minutes. Anyone connected is disconnected.

What stays and what changes

  • Extra disks are not touched. They keep their files as they are today.
  • If the Windows password was changed after that day, Windows goes back to the older password, while the portal still shows the newer one. If you cannot sign in, change the password again.
  • If you made the primary disk bigger after that day, the restored disk goes back to its size on that day.
  • A dynamic IP may change, so download a new RDP file afterward.

If the status shows Error afterward, contact our team.
