Choose a region for your computer
Pick the region closest to the people using the computer, so it feels quicker. Prices differ by region, and a computer cannot move once it is created.

How to tell which is closestWhat the choice affectsMoving laterIf setup says the region is being preparedA region is the part of the world where your computer physically runs. Choose the one closest to the people who will use it. The closer it is, the quicker the computer responds when you click and type.
How to tell which is closest
The Region step measures how quickly each region answers your browser and shows the result in ms (milliseconds) with signal bars. A lower number is better. The closest one is named at the top of the step and selected for you until you choose another.
Measure from where the computer will really be used. If your team is in another country, pick the region near them, not near you.
What the choice affects
- Price: each region has its own prices. The Plan step shows the prices for the region you chose.
- Plans: a plan belongs to one region, so changing region clears your plan choice and you choose again.
- Static IP: it is not offered in every region. The Networking step says so if it is not available.
Moving later
There is no way to move a computer to another region. To change region, create a new computer there and move your files across. The new computer starts empty.
If setup says the region is being prepared
A region sometimes needs preparing before it can be used. The review step tells you when this applies. Your computer starts automatically when the region is ready, which adds some time. Read how long setup takes.
If the step shows No regions available, contact our team to turn one on for your company.
