Rename a computer
Change the name people see in your computers list. It takes effect at once, with no restart, and does not change anything inside Windows.

Company admins can rename a computer at any time, with no restart.
- Click Computers in the sidebar.
- Click the computer's name.
- Click the Settings tab.
- Type the new name under Computer name. It can be up to 100 characters.
- Click Save name.
The new name shows across the portal. An RDP file you download afterward uses the new name as well. Files you already downloaded keep working under their old name.
This changes the name in the portal only. The name Windows uses for itself stays the same, and so do the computer's address, username and password.
