Start, stop or restart a computer
Use the menu on the Computers page. Stopping turns the computer off and keeps your files, and it does not stop what you are charged.

Anyone connected is disconnected when you stop or restart, so save your work first. These steps are for admins. Employees use their own page, where the same actions are called Start, Shut down and Restart.
Stop a computer
- Click Computers in the sidebar.
- Click the menu at the end of the computer's row.
- Click Shut down.
- Click Shut down computer to confirm.
It stays off until someone starts it. Your files and settings stay on its disks.
Stopping does not stop your charges. See what you still pay for.
Start a computer
- Click Computers in the sidebar.
- Click Start on the computer's row.
This takes a minute or two. Connect when the status shows Running. If you use a dynamic IP, the address may have changed, so download a new RDP file.
Restart a computer
Try this if it is frozen or not responding.
- Click Computers in the sidebar.
- Click the menu at the end of the computer's row.
- Click Reboot.
- Click Reboot computer to confirm.
From the computer's own page
Click Actions at the top of the page. It lists Start computer, Reboot computer and Power off computer. Power off means the same as shut down.
If a button does nothing
A computer that is busy cannot take another power command. Wait for the status to settle and try again. A message saying it may be busy with another change means the same thing.
If it stopped without you asking
Someone may have shut it down inside Windows, or another person with access may have stopped it. Your company's computers can also be stopped if an account is suspended for non-payment. Read how to pay a past due balance.
