What Connect only, Connect and power, and Full access mean
Each employee has one of three levels on each computer. Only Full access can see the password, use Remote Desktop or share the screen.

A person's level applies to one computer. They can have different levels on different computers.
| Connect only | Connect and power | Full access | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Open the computer in a browser | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Start, restart and shut down | No | Yes | Yes |
| See the password | No | No | Yes |
| Use the Remote Desktop app | No | No | Yes |
| Share the screen with a link | No | No | Yes |
Company admins can do all of this on every computer, and more, so they have no level.
People with Connect only cannot start a computer that is off. They see This computer is off and are told to ask someone with access. The page connects as soon as someone starts it.
Choose the lowest level that lets someone do their job. Full access gives them the computer's password, and with it they can sign in from the Remote Desktop app.
Lowering someone's level
If you move someone down from Full access, you are asked to confirm, because:
- The computer's password changes, as they could see it. Anyone connected may be disconnected. If the computer is off, it changes when it next runs.
- Any share links they created for that computer stop.
If someone tries something their level does not allow, they see "You don't have permission to do that on this computer."
