Add an employee to your company

Only a company admin can add people. You invite them by email and they choose their own password, so nobody else ever sees it.

1. Click Users in the sidebar.
2. Click Invite user.
3. Enter their Email, First name and Last name.
4. Under Computers, tick each computer they should use. A list appears beside each one, set to Full access. Change it if they need less.
5. Choose an Authenticator folder or a Shared drive if they need one, then pick Viewer to look only or Editor to make changes.
6. Tick Require email verification at sign-in if they should enter a code from their email each time they sign in.
7. Click Send invitation.

You must choose at least one computer, Authenticator folder or shared drive. A computer in the middle of something, such as starting up, cannot be ticked until it finishes.

What each choice on a computer means

After you send it

We email them the link, and the window also shows it under Invitation link. If the window says we could not send the email, copy the link and send it yourself. It works once, lasts 7 days and is not shown again. Anyone with it can set this person's password, so send it only to them.

They show as Invited until they set a password. New people always join as employees. To make someone an admin, see admin and employee roles.

Inviting someone adds nothing to your bill.

If you see "Someone with this email already has an account", that address already belongs to an OWD Cloud account, in your company or another one. Each email address can have only one account, so use a different address.
