Remote Desktop will not connect
The usual cause is that your network address changed. Downloading the file again adds your new one.

Your computer only accepts Remote Desktop from addresses on its list, and your address changes when you move network.
- Check the computer shows Running.
- Open its RDP and credentials tab, and click Download RDP file from the network you are on now. This adds your current address.
- Open the new file, not an old one.
- Copy the Password from the same tab, and paste it when Windows asks.
If Windows says your credentials did not work
The username must start with .\ before the name. The downloaded file does this for you. If you type it by hand, add it. Read more about your username and password.
If you use a VPN
A VPN gives you a different address. Download the file while connected to it, or see how addresses work.
In the meantime
Connect in a browser, which does not need your address on the list.
