You create a computer in five steps, and it is usually ready 3 to 7 minutes after you pay. Only a company admin can create computers.
- Click Computers in the sidebar, then Create computer.
- Choose a Region, which is where your computer lives. The page looks for the one closest to you.
- Choose a Plan, which is the computer's size. Each plan shows its memory, storage and monthly price.
- Under Networking, keep Dynamic IP, which is included, or choose Static IP if you need an address that stays the same. Its price shows beside it.
- Under Allowed IP addresses, click Add my current IP. These are the addresses that can connect with Remote Desktop, and you need at least one.
- Under Credentials, type a Computer name. The Windows username and password are created for you.
- Under Review and payment, check the summary and choose or add a card.
- Click the button at the bottom to pay and create the computer.
Your card is charged when you confirm, and the computer then bills monthly. The amounts show on this step before you click.
The page then shows Setting up your computer.
Connect to it
When the status says Running, click Computers in the sidebar and click Connect on its row. You have two choices:
- Connect via browser opens Windows in your browser with nothing to install. See connect in a browser.
- Connect via RDP uses a Remote Desktop app. See connect with Remote Desktop.
Windows asks for its own username and password, which are not your OWD Cloud sign-in. Find them here.
If the page stops you
If you see Verify your organization instead of the first step, your company has reached the number of computers allowed before verification. Here is why, and what to do. Your existing computers keep working.
For every option in these steps, see create a computer.
