What happens when your Authenticator trial ends

Your card is charged for the plan you chose and Authenticator carries on. If the charge fails, access pauses and your tokens are kept.

Updated · 1 min read

When the 7 days are over, the trial becomes a paid subscription unless you canceled. We charge your default card for the plan you chose, and Authenticator carries on with the Active badge.

If your company already has a subscription, Authenticator joins it, and the charge is prorated to your renewal date.

If the charge does not go through

Access to Authenticator pauses for everyone in your company until the charge succeeds. A banner across the portal tells you the trial has ended.

We try your card up to three times, about a day apart. A card that needs your bank's approval cannot pass these tries, because nobody is there to approve it.

To turn Authenticator back on yourself:

  1. Check your card on the Billing page. If it has expired, add a new one.
  2. Click Authenticator in the sidebar.
  3. Choose your plan.
  4. Click Activate Authenticator. Your saved card is charged, and your bank can ask you to approve it. See my bank asks me to approve a card or payment.

Your tokens are kept for up to 90 days after access ends, and they come back when you activate.

There is no second free trial, so activating always charges your card.
